Practice coach · the back cover
Most practice is studying for the wrong exam. On the course you get one ball and one go. That’s the test. So build the practice back from there.
For elite and aspiring-elite players, and for coaches with a squad. Not for a swing fix, and not for anyone who won’t keep his own record.

Two packages · the price on the back cover
For an elite or aspiring-elite player who keeps his own record and wants a coach reading it.
For a coach with a squad of elite or aspiring-elite players, who wants to see what they do when they’re away from him.
No app asks the two questions that decide whether practice holds up. Did you train in the real environment, at a higher standard? When you couldn’t, how close to the real thing did you get?
Why another golf app · the Ettle ethos, signed 20 Oct 2026Ettle is a practice app for elite and aspiring-elite golfers and their coaches. The player sets what he’s working towards, logs each practice day in nine quick questions, and after a tournament says whether the practice showed up. The coach sees what his player has been doing. ettle.golf
The back cover · on the record
For seventeen years I’ve worked with one question: how do we know we’re practising the right things, at the right time? I’m in the research and on the range, both. I read the papers and I stand next to the players. That work became my Masters thesis at Abertay, two books with Professor Ian Renshaw, and the Ettle app. Today I split my time between elite players, coach mentoring and squad work with Swiss Golf. The question never changed. The answers just keep sharpening.
I tried it, it didn’t work, and I rebuilt it. The first version took too long to log, so I started again.
